The Middle East is the subject of many ‘End of Days’ prophecies. Israel have returned to the land but are surrounded by hostile neighbours as the Bible predicted:
Hostility of Edom and Idumea: “You cherished perpetual enmity and gave over the people of Israel to the power of the sword at the time of their calamity, at the time of their final punishment.” Ezekiel 35:5 ESV
Hostility of Nations Round About: I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that sends all the surrounding peoples reeling. Judah will be besieged as well as Jerusalem. Zechariah 12:2
Hostility of Other Nations: I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it; the city will be captured, the houses ransacked, and the women raped. Half of the city will go into captivity. Zechariah 14:2
The book of Daniel tells us this time for Israel would be a time, times and dividing of time, until the power of Israel is broken for a final time –
“It will be for a time, times and half a time. When the power of the holy people has been finally broken, all these things will be completed.” Daniel 12:7
The Book of Revelation fills in the details which were sealed from Daniel. It’s the conclusion of Daniel’s 70 weeks of years prophecy – a time that was extended when their Messiah was rejected, just as the 40 days was extended to 40 years when the vision of the Promised Land was rejected.
Seventy ‘sevens’ are decreed for your people and your holy city to finish transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness. Daniel 9:24
The Book of Daniel speaks of a Beast with 10 horns coming against the holy people (Israel). Revelation gives more detail of this same Beast with 10 horns and how it attacks the woman on its back (secular, unbelieving Israel – described as a Harlot for forsaking the covenant causing her to come under foreign rule as per Ezekiel 16 etc.)

| The ten horns are ten kings who will come from this kingdom. After them another king (BEAST) will arise, different from the earlier ones; he will subdue three kings. He will speak against the Most High and oppress his holy people and try to change the set times and the laws. The holy people (Israel) will be delivered into his hands for a time, times and half a time. | The beast and the ten horns you saw will hate the prostitute. They will bring her to ruin and leave her naked; they will eat her flesh and burn her with fire. |
These 2 visions are the same and precede a time of trouble which is ahead for Israel. We are in the days of the 10 horns and the Beast which rises among 3 of them (Beast of Abyss) – very likely Iran working via proxies –
Now when they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up from the Abyss will attack them, and overpower and kill them. Their bodies will lie in the public square of the great city—which is figuratively called Sodom and Egypt—where also their Lord was crucified. (Jerusalem) Rev. 11:7-8
